“Children travel into their own worlds with their free minds.”
I created this work with the thought of how children would view a play that they could not possibly "understand".
The ukiyoe used in this project are Magoshichi and Jinzo the Toolmaker, both painted by Kuniyoshi Utagawa.

I use public domain images whose copyrights have expired, which have been digitally archived and made available to the public by museums in various countries.
Even though the copyrights have expired, I use each of works with respect and affection, which were created with great care by the artists of the time.
I also use old paper and books that I have on hand, along with public domain images that are distributed and sold in various countries.

到底「理解」できない作品を、こどもたちはどう観ているのか。そこに思いを馳せて制作した作品です。

著作権が切れているといえど、当時の画家さん、絵師さんたちが丹精込めて作り上げた作品、敬意と愛情をもって、使用させていただいております。
各国で配布、販売されているパブリックドメインの他、手元にある和紙や古書も使用してコラージュ製作をしています。
